Week 2 of the 1st phase of south beach. It was harder this week to avoid alcohol and tasty treats, but I was able to do it. My results, unfortunately, did not show the amount of sacrifice I put into it. I lost 1 pound this week. Still losing weight, so I am not completely discouraged, but it is a much different number from last week. In order to combat this weak result, I am scheduling an extra weigh in for Thursday. I plan to go to the gym and run more frequently this week, something I was not really doing that much of last week.

Currently

Weight – 234.6 lbs

BMI – 33.7

Progress

Total loss 7.4 lbs

9.6 lbs to go with 19 days remaining

Happy Thanksgiving

So, the reason I have started all of this is because of how I felt after the thanksgiving holiday. Lot’s of food, joy, drinks, more food, joy, drinks, food, drinks, and more food. Much like the rest of America, I have packed on some weight to survive those cold winter months. It is especially needed for those of us in the deep south where the temperatures average in the 60s, right? Maybe not.

My weight has skyrocketed back into a dangerous area. Today I weighed in at 242 lbs. Scary. I will be doing weigh-ins at least every week during this process.

Goal

225 lbs by December 31.

Currently

Weight – 242 lbs

BMI – 34.7

Progress

17 lbs to go with 33 days remaining.

This is a portion of my site about accountability. I won't alter or change anything placed in this area, as a testament to that, I will post all figures, graphs, and trends as graphics.

Why?

This is a part of my site I shouldn’t expect to see much traffic, nor do I really want to. This is a portion of my site about accountability. I won’t alter or change anything placed in this area, as a testament to that, I will post all figures, graphs, and trends as graphics.

Goals for the year have also been posted. I have tried to make them challenging, yet realistic. I believe I can achieve them, but there is a good chance I won’t, this will also be posted here for all to see. Not necessarily for you, rather as another layer of accountability for me.

Other things I plan to do on this site…

I would like to update at least once a week with performance charts. Once a month I plan on updating with a summary on my way to the end of the year.

I will, on occasion, post blog updates about things I have learned, difficulties, changes, downfalls, and victories.

Final notes

If you have decided to join me on my adventure, thank you. I hope you continue to come by and support my efforts. If you have suggestions, comments, or just piffy commentary about any particular piece I post, I welcome them with this one exception: This site is for my benefit, my health, and a vehicle for my success. If your involvement in this site will deter any of the above items, consider your welcome ended.

Again, thank you, I hope it turns out as well as I want it to when I sit here to write my update in November.
