So today was my first day at the 2024 Macadmins conference; today was the workshop day and today did not go as well as the speakers planned it to go.

I say this because the speakers actually thought about all of the pitfalls that could happen at a conference: the Wi-Fi, the amount of data that needed to be downloaded, so many variables and yet,! they thought “hey what if we just go ahead and download all of that stuff and we make it available on a private network and we operate the private network and we provide this only to the people in the room that surely would solve the problem” unfortunately it did not!

The reality of the situation is there were far too many people in a single space for this particular demonstration to work well. What this demonstration needed was a space that had at max 30 people maybe 50 and what we had was a space with, I guess, 100 to maybe 150 people. This saturated the Wi-Fi network so much that it could not operate | PERIOD!! Point blank, end of sentence, no more explanation needed. The Wi-Fi was trash.

Anyway, they did their best, I was very patient, I understood the realities of what they were trying to do, and best of all they provided a Google doc. This thing has all of the instructions all of the links everything you needed. Making it back to reliable Wi-Fi made everything I suffered through this morning Absolutely worth it and I have so much to learn!
