Solo Sipsey Loop

Day 2 – Needle’s Eye – Auburn Falls

I woke up this morning at sunrise, the light and animals all come to life and make it hard to be able to sleep in.

I tried to go back to sleep, but it wasn’t in the cards. After about 30 minutes of trying to lay their and go back to sleep I gave up and decided to start packing.

I packed everything and hit the trail around 7. I made it to Auburn (Falls). It was COMPLETELY DRY! Not even a trickle coming down, just some slightly damp areas, one of them I found a snail.

Several deer ran past me about a mile into my hike this morning. They are so incredible when they are running in the wilderness. They gallop over the rough terrain effortlessly.

About a mile and a half into my hike, I made it back to the part of the trail I started the loop on. Within another 20 minutes, I was back at the car.
