I am watching the weather a lot lately. the u.s. has just had one of the worst natural disasters to ever hit our country and here we are not more than a fortnight from that disaster we are facing another catastrophic storm.

Hurricane milton is among the most powerful storms ever generated, not only is it a category 5 storm within hours of being a hurricane, it has one of the lowest pressure readings I’ve seen. Just under 900 m/b. Without looking it up, because, this is the internet of course, I think it was wilma with the lowest. this storm is just above wilma’s reading.

how is it possible this is happening in october? not just a hurricane, we’ve all accepted that as a reality when 50 years ago it was a rarity. How is it possible for a cat 5 storm to occur in october? how is it possible for a storm to go from a noteworthy cluster of storms around an area of low pressure to a cat 5 in a day………. in october? how is that even possible?

I shudder to think it could have anything to do with warmer water and warmer air because of a warmer climate. we need to say the part out loud that nobody seems to realize. we are only arguing about climate change because a handful of people many many years ago saw the studies, supressed the results, greenwashed their businesses, deflected scientists, and lied to consumers just so they could earn a few % more. I am so disgusted with humanity.

Part of this hurricane is expected to make landfall near an area where helen landed. I am horrified of what might happen in the next 36 hours
